My pc is getting slower and slower on the Internet?

This is a common thing to hear customers say. Here are a few simple maintenance tricks you can do that will help keep your pc performance up.

First of all, open your web browser and go to "Tools" and scroll down to "Internet Options". This will open the options dialogue box. On the General Tab you will see the option to delete Cookies and Delete Files. This will remove files that are taking up space and slowing down your pc. When both of these options are completed, close that dialogue box.

Next, Check for ad-ware/spy-ware on your pc. We recommend downloading Super Anti-spyware . This user-friendly program will scan and delete malware from your pc.

Next, update your anti-virus software and run a full system scan to be sure that the problem isn't being caused by a virus such as a Download Trojan.

Also, if you are running XP, Vista, or Windows 7 or 8, we also recommend checking with Microsoft for updates. Microsoft is always updating their software and providing patches and fixes that may help your operating system run more efficiently.

Once you have done all of that, don't forget to do a little clean up afterward. We recommend CCleaner from Piriform to do this. This program safely cleans up your temporary files and registry files without harming your computer.

And lastly, we recommend running "defrag" on your pc. This is the process of rewriting parts of a file to contiguous sectors on a hard disk to increase the speed of access and retrieval. When files are updated, the computer tends to save these updates on the largest continuous space on the hard disk, which is often on a different sector than the other parts of the file. When files are thus fragmented, the computer must search the hard disk each time the file is opened to find all of the file's parts, which slows down response time. This process may take a considerable amount of time depending on the size of your harddrive and how badly it is fragmented.
