Mechling/Mechcom Support Group

I am getting email from the "support team" at Mechcom?

We have been getting a lot of calls lately about emails that look like they are coming from the "support team" of Mechcom Dot Net asking the customer to change their password or update their email settings due to server upgrades, etc. THIS IS A FALSE ALERT! These emails are not being sent from our server, they are instead a virus trying to get you to click on a link that will allow it to execute and continue it's path of spreading itself to everyone in your address book. You may even get these same type of emails from other service providers like Verizon, Yahoo, and even your bank. Each will be asking you to update your online account settings. These too are fake alerts. Norton Antivirus removes the infected attachment, but you will still receive the text portion of the email which contains the malicious link. DO NOT click on the link! Just ignore and delete the message.

If you don't have Norton Antivirus, Norton Internet Security, or Norton 360 you may already be infected. Your PC will run slower, your internet will also become very slow due to the virus sending itself out. You may also get unusual errors and eventually you will be unable to access the internet at all. This virus disables your anti-virus software from being able to see or remove it. The virus comes in many forms and all of them send you the same fake email.

Below are some examples of the emails.

For example if sending itself to yourname@example.com, the virus might send the email as if from admin@example.com.
