Setting up your Mechcom E-mail Account

If you have never had email set up on your computer, when you click on the icon for Outlook Express, the wizard will open and on this screen it will ask you if you want to create a new account, select “yes” and click “next”.

On this screen it will ask you for a display name. This can be your whole name or your first name, it is up to you. (Example: Sam or S. Mechling) Click “next”.

On this screen it will ask for your email address. Type this in as it is listed on your Welcome sheet provided by Mechcom Dot Net and click “next”.

On this screen it will prompt you for the incoming POP3 mail server name. Type in pop.ipage.com and in the outgoing SMTP mail server type in smtp.ipage.com. (see Fig. 6) Click “next”.

On this screen it will ask you for your account name and password. Type in your user name (which is your whole email address) and password listed on your Welcome sheet. Be sure the “remember password” is checked so you won’t have to type it in every time you want to check your mail or connect to the internet. Click “next”.

This is the Final screen. Click the “Finish” button and you have successfully setup your Internet account. Now when you click on the Outlook Express icon, it will send & receive your email.

 

Mechcom customers when you are done setting up your email, you will need to click on "Tools" and scroll down to "Accounts" (see Fig.7). A dialogue box will appear with tabs across the top. Click on the "Mail" tab and double click on your mail account. This will open the mail properties box. Select the "server" tab on the top and you will see something like Fig.8. put a check where you see the red check in Fig.8

This Outgoing mail setting enables you to send email.
